Little Stars Room
“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own desire to learn”………Maria Montessori
Our Little Stars preschool room at Willow House Childcare Sandyford Central gives children space to follow their interests, build friendships and discover what they can do for themselves.
Through play and everyday experiences, children develop their language, creativity and problem-solving skills. They can build, draw, enjoy stories, explore learning materials or create their own games with friends.
Our team gets to know each child and offers encouragement as they try new things. We help children learn to share ideas, listen to others and manage everyday tasks, building confidence and independence as they prepare for school.

Play-Based Curriculum
Children learn best when they are interested and involved. We follow their curiosity and use their ideas to help shape activities, giving them time to explore and make discoveries.
Their day includes opportunities for:
-
Imaginative play with the play kitchen and small-world toys
-
Building and construction
-
Drawing, painting and creative activities
-
Stories, songs and conversations
-
Exploring shapes, numbers, colours and patterns
-
Playing together and working things out
-
Outdoor play and movement
Children can choose activities independently, play with a friend or join a group. Our team supports them along the way, helping them express their ideas, take turns and consider each other’s feelings.
Preparing for school is about more than letters and numbers. We also encourage practical skills, confidence and communication, and work with parents to support each child’s next steps.
Room Facilities
Our Little Stars room is bright and colourful, with spaces for creative activities, imaginative play and quieter moments.
Child-sized tables provide room for drawing, puzzles and shared activities. The play kitchen, road mat and construction toys invite children to invent stories and play together, while the reading area offers a comfortable spot to enjoy a book.
Low shelves keep materials within easy reach, helping children choose activities and put things away afterwards. An easel and a selection of learning materials give them further opportunities to create, explore and try things for themselves.
